Don’t You Forget About Me

This storytelling project revolved around the creation of a stained glass window containing nineteen individual panes which were designed and created by the families and friends of the victims.

Based in the Belfast centre, each pane depicts the personality or life of an individual killed between 1969 and 2000. The primary aim of the project was to assist individuals and in some cases their families on a journey towards healing, wholeness and understanding.

This project was pioneering for WAVE in that it was the first of its kind undertaken by the organisation and has since developed as a model which has been rolled out across the organisation.

To illustrate the success of this project, the stained glass window was exhibited for three years at the Ulster Museum as part of their ‘Conflict-The Irish at War’ exhibition from December 2003 to Spring 2006.
