Tribute to our dear friend Kathy O'Hare
15th January 2018
Kathy was always a great friend to the Armagh centre, a remarkable woman who give so much of her own time and talents to others. The Armagh staff owe her a huge debt of gratitude for all the years she volunteered her time and hard work – nothing was ever too much for her and she will be sorely missed by all the staff. We will remember her as a great friend to all of us, supportive and caring to all who knew her.
Kathy’s contribution to the victim’s sector will be part of her rich legacy. Having lost her dear sister Peggy in an explosion in 1975 she went on to use her experience and knowledge to advocate on behalf of all who had suffered in the Troubles. Queen’s University Belfast, benefited from her valuable knowledge and understanding of victim's issues as she shared her unique experience with Health and Social Care professionals through the citizen trainers’ programme. Kathy was a great lady with a heart of gold and will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her devoted husband Johnny and her children and wider family circle. May she rest in peace.
