WAVE Omagh provide knitwear for premature and new born babies' campaign.
26th January 2018
The Thursday morning ‘Knit and Knatter’ group at the WAVE Trauma Centre in Omagh have been very busy knitting and crocheting lovely blankets, hats and cardigans for premature and new born babies. The photo shows the high level of design, expertise and creativity involved in producing such beautiful items. The knitwear was presented to Mrs Linda Thompson, a supporter of the campaign by Gertie, Margaret, Helen, Mary, Vida and Kay of WAVE’s knit and knatter group. The baby clothes will go to the neo-natal units at the SouthWest Acute Hospital in Enniskillen and Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry Londonderry. Linda thanked the group for their time, effort and generosity and said that the garments would be appreciated at the units. This is not the first campaign that the group at WAVE have supported. Crocheted throws have been presented to various residential homes in the area, including baby clothes to neo-natal units and to children in need as far away as Malawi. At WAVE we are very proud of the group and the excellent work they do within the community and further afield. Well done everybody.
