Advice/Advocacy and Welfare Support

Many individuals and families affected by the Troubles experience financial difficulties. Our welfare advice service is designed to offer specialist information and advice within the following areas:
·         Social Security Benefits
·         Housing
·         Intimidation
·         Consumer & employment issues
·         Education & training
·         Community care
·         Tribunal representation
·         Financial grants

Our advice worker, Annette Creelman, has specialist knowledge of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and grief & trauma which is invaluable as we only provide welfare support to individuals affected by the Troubles. Annette is also the only practitioner providing information sessions to our client group on the ongoing welfare reform within the UK.

In addition, we lobby on social policy issues concerning Victims/Survivors of the Northern Ireland Troubles and the effects of welfare reform on our client group.
