WAVE's Got Talent event a huge success!
17 February 2010 - 3:57pm — Jackie
WAVE is proud to announce that our recent WAVE’s Got Talent event which occurred on Friday 12th February 2010 was a huge success. Performing to a full house at Lisburn’s Civic Centre, twenty-two acts provided a great night of entertainment, fun and laughs hosted by local comedian Tim Mc Garry.
Overall winners on the night who were chosen by the audience were ‘Wesley & the Waivers’, the affectionate name given to the WAVE Choir who sang (and danced) to a musical piece from ‘Sister Act’.
The two runner-up prizes were awarded to The Barry Family and Danielle Hamilton respectively.
The Barry Family, from Banbridge consisted of 3 sons who delighted the audience with their unique blend of traditional Irish music with a modern twist!
Danielle Hamilton, hailing from Cookstown was accompanied by her Uncle Bobby Hamilton who both sang a beautiful rendition of ‘Hallelujah’ originally penned by Leonard Cohen.
