Peace III Supported Programme: The Trauma Training Learning Pathway
Trauma Training
The impact of Peace in Northern Ireland has encouraged people to address difficult issues more so than in a time of conflict and instability. A devolved administration in Northern Ireland has increased the desire for people to address the effects the trauma has had on their lives. These effects include not only their physical and emotional needs but also larger psychological needs.
WAVE as an organisation has gained a critical mass of expertise in the provision of therapeutic support and befriending services, for those affected by the psychological trauma associated with the ‘Troubles’. The organisation has developed organically a variety of accredited Training courses in the field of trauma which range from an Introductory to Advanced level in a number of areas across community, academic and professional development.
The WAVE Training Programme is for those who have been bereaved, traumatised or injured through the 'Troubles' in Northern Ireland or those working in the community or with Agencies impacted by the legacy of Conflict in Northern Ireland and the border areas. It may also be of interest to those who wish to pursue further study in trauma related areas.
Please refer to our quick link 'Trauma Training Courses' for further information.
