Welcome to our Fundraising section.
Since its establishment in 1991, WAVE has offered direct support to over 3,500 individuals; a cross-section of adults, young people and children who have been bereaved, traumatised or injured as a result of the ‘Troubles’ in Northern Ireland. Many have witnessed at first hand the death or injury of a parent or sibling with often detrimental consequences to their home or school life.
With over 2,100 people currently engaged in support provision and the level of new referrals across all WAVE centres steadily increasing, WAVE needs to supplement its income by holding various fundraising activities each year. Events ranging from bag packs, collection days and raffles to gala dinners all contribute towards helping us meet detrimental funding gaps.

Donations, no matter what size, will help us to offer practical care and emotional support for those traumatised by the ‘Troubles’ in Northern Ireland and abroad.

PAYROLL GIVING – OR ‘GIVE AS YOU EARN’
Alternatively,make a simple, tax effective donation from your wages. Speak to your employer to see if your workplace supports this scheme. This way you can make regular donations to charity straight from your salary, before tax. On each payday an amount of your choice is deducted by your payroll department and sent to WAVE or another charity of your choice.
Your donations are taken before tax, meaning that for every £1 you give it will only cost you 80p (60p if you are a higher rate tax payer) – the taxman will pay the rest!
